Volunteers

Initial data entry and verification were tackled by a team of nearly twenty volunteers from the UBC Botanical Garden's Friends of the Garden.

Student volunteers are now working on updating the data to transform the data to reflect current knowledge. This group includes Hannes Dempewolf, who is reconciling the nomenclature used in the database with modern names.

Staff

Liaising with volunteers, constructing the web site and database, and transforming the data are the work of Daniel Mosquin, bioinformatics and web manager at the UBC Botanical Garden and Centre for Plant Research. Data organization and cleaning has been helped by Eric La Fountaine, a data entry technician with UBC BGCPR.

Original Authors

The authors of the original 1976 published work, "Vascular Plants of British Columbia", were Dr. Roy L. Taylor and Dr. Bruce MacBryde. Twelve staff members were also involved, along with 42 research scientists.
